When my phone rang for this project, I was at the lake. I got the call from my dear friend Annette. And she told me about this bride and groom and their story. The bride just recently lost her father and the wedding the couple dreamed of just got canceled. Their huge November wedding originally planned to be in Cartagena, Columbia was downsized to a private ceremony in Los Angeles this past August. Plans included a simple champagne toast at The Luxe Hotel to briefly celebrate with a small group of friends. Annette asked me if I would be on board to join a team of phenomenal people to give the bride and groom a fancier night to celebrate their nuptials. I jumped at the chance because I love weddings (I grow attached to my couples and get emotional at each affair) especially when it’s involves surprises like what was in store for this lovely couple, Viviana Rueda  and Michael Hejlesen.

The only way I know how to tell a story, is through photos so here it goes.

My main part in the project was to be the “documentary” photographer. I was able to use my skills to catch the details on the raw emotions of the day.  You can also see a fabulous new friend and great wedding photographer, Vanessa Preziose of  Vanessa Preziose Photography .

Walking in to Viviana and her girlfriends getting ready for her big day was a blast to watch and document. They got to gab and get pampered by Terri Apanasewicz, owner and celebrity makeup artist of P3 Beauty . Ummmm, hello, she’s Cindy Crawford’s makeup artist. In my book, that’s pretty rad. Not only does she brush elbows with the famous and makes them beautiful, her makeup line is amazing. She has a knack for pulling out the attributes on every client she works on. She’s truly gifted.
